The Multiple Listing Service (MLS) has become a very strong entity for home sellers to strategically list their houses both efficiently and effectively. Getting the word out to as many people as possible is the name of the game when attempting to sell your home and using MLS will make this much easier to do. Before the inception of MLS most real estate companies had sole possession of the house listing they were selling for a home owner and were granted exclusive rights to these listings. Multiple Serve Listings opened up the door for shared information and now allows your home to be seen through a system rather than just one real estate company. When there was no MLS available to a home owner trying to sell, they were usually subjected to dealing with more than one company to get the word out and listing out to a larger spectrum. Now that we see MLS playing a major role in home marketing, any agent that is within MLS will have the power to access every property listed in a specific area. Instead of a home owner needing to rely on a number of different agents from different companies to spread the listing to a wide area, MLS works to minimize the agent to one and that agent has the power to spread your listing across the entire market. This is a wonder of the computer era we find ourselves in and as always the Internet makes life a little easier. MLS is kind of a running agreement between that exists for them to share their listings. Before the implantation of MLS, real estate companies were selling their listing to one another to piece together a better marketing strategy that would span to a wide array of buyers. One of the primary functions of MLS is to ensure every seller’s listing is readily accessible and visible to the buyer’s market. If you are attempting to sell your home creating buyers traffic is the number priority when selling your home. The simple truth is that if people don’t come to see it or know it’s available, they are not going to buy it. |
